Abstract

Chapter Summary The pregnant mouse uterus undergoes dynamic changes over the course of gestation to support development of the conceptus. Using histological techniques this chapter tracks the microscopic changes that occur in the mouse implantation site from implantation to parturition focusing on placental and vascular development, and immune cell populations. Beginning with the non-pregnant uterus these changes are illustrated on gestation days 3.5-13.5, 15.5 and just prior to parturition on gestation day 19.5.
