Quadrupole scattering in magnetoresistivity of PrPb3

The transverse ρ ⊥ and the longitudinal magnetoresistance ρ ‖ of a PrPb 3 single crystal was measured in the temperature range 2 T ρ ⊥ − ρ ‖ ) was compared with that theoretically predicted if the influence of the quadrupole scattering mechanism on magnetoresistivity is taken into consideration. The comparison shows that quadrupole scattering processes in PrPb 3 are essential.
