Abstract
- Dimensional co-ordination is a convention limiting the number of sizes to which building components are made for general use. Its importance increases with the industrialization of building methods, and with the extent to which building technology moves towards the interchangeability of factory-made components. Conflicting proposals are beginning to be resolved, and preferred dimensions are being tested in practice. The possibility of a change to the metric system is relevant.
