Abstract

This paper presents a new parameter optimization technique in order to parameter optimization of Linear Optimal Control (LOC) and Power System Stabilizer (PSS) in multi-machine power system. The optimized LOC consists of the advantages of conventional stabilizers. Also, the proposed LOC demonstrates excellent performance with fast response in multi-machine power systems. These features are developed by extended simulations and different conditions. Also, the method employs transient parameters of Q-axis for PSS and LOC in order to better damping oscillations. Simulations are performed by MATLAB software and the results proved that the proposed optimized LOC and PSS significantly improve the dynamic response of the power system in various conditions and different disturbances. After coefficient calculation for multi-machine systems, regard to transient parameters of Q-axis, multi-machine LOC and PSS parameters are optimized and the results are extracted.
