Abstract
- The high-field installation at the MASPEC Institute is described. The increase of energy up to 1 MJ has recently been implemented, thus permitting the generation of fields up to 60 T with a pulse duration of 40 ms. The planned experiments are magnetocrystalline anisotropy studies of single crystals using magnetization curves, while polycrystalline samples are studied with the singular point detection technique (SPD). The two methods can be used to study critical field and critical magnetization in first-order magnetization processes (FOMP) that are field-induced magnetic transitions. Transport measurements both in semiconductors and superconductors are planned.
