The modified collective-mode approach: dielectric relaxation in water

Abstract

A more general formulation of the collective-mode approach is proposed to describe the processes of dynamical polarization in liquids. It is based on a consistent inclusion of non-Markovian terms into the kinetic memory kernels. This has allowed us to reproduce quantitatively the entire frequency dependence of the dielectric functions and identify the primary polarization modes for an interaction site model of water over the whole wavelength range.
