Abstract

We have reported the melting points of Nd-Ba-Cu-O samples, measured by differential thermal analysis (DTA). When Ag was doped into the sample, the melting points of NdBa2Cu3Oy (Nd123) were depressed to lower temperature, implying the solidification temperatures of Ndl23 can be suppressed. In this paper, we report the Ag doping effect on the solidification temperatures for the Ag-doped Nd-Ba-Cu-O system and the properties of the oxygen controlled melt growth (OCMG)-processed Nd-Ba-Cu-O + Ag composites.
