Oficina de florestas: Tupi or not Tupi, that is the question

This article reflects on the dimension of theater and the indigenous peoples. With an expanded look at the Brazilian theatrical scene, this paper show the studies developed by the research group Tabihuni in the municipality of Manaus, state of Amazonas, and by the company theater: Teatro Oficina Uzyna Uzona from Sao Paulo. The first stands out due to the direct participation of the indigenous people in the performances Uwanary tendawa and Uhpu and, the second, due to the vital scenic presence, cast and audience of those involved, in the play Os Sertoes.
