Abstract
- Background Given that cannabis (marijuana) is the most widely used illicit drug in the world, a critical—yet unresolved— medical and public-health issue is whether cannabis smoking might increase the risk of lung cancer. Cannabis and tobacco smoke contain many of the same potent carcinogens, but with cannabis smoke condensates being even more cytotoxic and mutagenic.
