NAGT Summer Field Course Scholarship Program – Two Decades of Industry Support for Geological Education

From 1974 through 1992 the NAGT Summer Field Course Scholarship Program has helped 1510 students attend summer field camps. A total of $337,600 donated by industry and NAGT members has been awarded. Summary statistics, including an average GPA of 3.71/4.00 for awards and an average acceptance rate of 28% show how selective the program has been. Women have received 36% of the awards. NAGT is about to embark on solicitation to build an endowment fund for the program.
