Is Acute Hemodynamic-Angiographic Evaluation Necessary Before Implantation of a Left Ventricular-Based Pacemaker?

Left ventricular-based (LV) pacing is considered an effective adjunct to pharmacological treatment in patients with severe chronic heart failure (CHF) [1, 2]. However, many questions related to this new therapeutic option remain open. One of these is the utility of acute hemodynamic-angiographic evaluation prior to the permanent implantation. The aim of this review is to attempt to summarize our knowledge on this topic.
