Abstract
- Di(thien-2-yl) methanol and di(thien-2-yl) methyl octyl ether have been synthesized and oxidatively polymerized to yield quinoidal poly(di(thien-2-yl) methane). The polymers are quinoidal due to the removal of the oxygen-containing group on the bridge carbon. The solubility and processability properties of the polymers matched the previously synthesized poly(di(thien-2-yl) methane) made by polymerizing di(thien-2-yl) methane.
