Anorexia and Cachexia in Renal Failure—Is Leptin the Culprit?

It has been known for decades that renal failure, and particularly end-stage renal disease, is a catabolic state often associated with anorexia and wasting ([1][1]). The problem of identifying the substance(s) responsible for anorexia, wasting, and cachexia of uremic patients with and without
