Abstract
- staining for IFN, we found that multifunctional LMNC CMV-specific CD4 T cells exhibit higher MFI for IFNcompared to single cytokine producing cells, while CD8 T cells do not. Conclusions: There are differences in the distribution and functional quality of CMV-specific CD4 and CD8 effector memory during chronic infection between the tissue compartments, suggesting an important role for CD4 T cells in CMV mucosal immunity.
