Abstract
- Augmented reality (AR) aims to create user interface in which virtual objects are overlaid on the physical environment. Equipment maintenance and training tasks are excellent domains for augmented reality application. In this paper, a prototype of video see-through based AR system for training and supporting to computer maintenance is presented. A vision and inertial based hybrid tracking method is adopted in the prototype and discussed in details. A WIMP-based user interface which is simple, convenient and informative is designed for this system. Experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the prototype.
