Abstract

In order to expand the well drainage area, increase the producing degree of reservoir, and improve the single-well productivity, a pilot test of horizontal well multistage acid fracturing was carried out in ultra-low permeability and hard-to-produce blocks of R oilfield in Kazakhstan. According to the data of geology, reservoir, drilling and logging, the completion string structure and tool position were determined. To realize more uniform treatment in each stage, the fiber-based temporary plugging and diverting technique was used, and the parameters such as pressure, displacement and horsepower were optimized. Micro-seismic monitoring results show that an independent fracture network is formed in each fracturing stage to facilitate the multistage fracturing. Significant treatment performance has been observed after production, indicating that the horizontal well multistage acid fracturing technique is prospective for the development of thin tight carbonate reservoirs in R oilfield.
