Cet article s'intéresse à la façon dont de nouvelles représentations de l'histoire surgissent entre la fin du XVIIe et le début du XVIIIe siècles. Le champ religieux, les controverses religieuses (portant sur le statut du texte biblique, sur la pérennité de la tradition) constituent un lieu paradoxal mais décisif de sécularisation. L'analyse de la querelle orientale permet de préciser les détails de cette sécularisation de l'histoire à partir du religieux.
The subject of this paper concerns the way new representations of history arise between the end of the 17th and the beginning of 18th centuries. The religious field, the religious controversies (concerning the status of the biblical text, the continuity of the Tradition) represent a paradoxical but decisive place of secularization. The analysis of the oriental quarrel allows one to specify the details of this secularization of history from the standpoint of religion.
