Heat transfer rate of direct-contact condensation on baffle trays

Abstract
- The paper deals with the experimentally obtained results of the direct-contact condensation of steam in contact with water in cascade column. Baffle trays were used to obtain contact between water and steam in DN 300 column at atmospheric pressure. Testing of Chernobilski equation showed poor correlation compared to the experimental results so we have found the following form of heat transfer rate Nu = 5.8 · 10 - 6 · Re 5 / 3 · Pr 1 / 3 · Fr - 2 / 3 which could be recommended for heat transfer calculations for this kind of apparatuses.
