Abstract: Cancer detection differs from cancer diagnosis in its goal. In diagnosis, disease is present and the goal is to identify the pathology of this present illness. The diagnosis is necessary to define the problem. With a diagnosis the physician may examine and interpret to his patient the prognosis and compare means for improving it.
