ChemInform Abstract: PbGa2MSe6(M: Si, Ge): Two Exceptional Infrared Nonlinear Optical Crystals

PbGa2SiSe6 (I) and PbGa2GeSe6 (II) with mid-IR second-order nonlinear optical responses are prepared by solid-state reaction of PbSe, Ga2Se3, Si (Ge), and Se in the molar ratio 1:1:1:2 (evacuated silica tube, 1023 K (1073 K for (II)), 50 h; cooling to 573 K with a rate of 3 K/h).
