Determination of the points of zero charge of metals by the pulsed preheating method

1. A new method was proposed for determining the points of zero charge (PZC), based on the change at the PZC in the sign of the preheating currents, arising during pulsed illumination of the electrode-solution interface. 2. The method was used to measure the PZC of mercury in aqueous and nonaqueous solutions. 3. The PZC of a number of solid metals were measured and agree with the literature data.
