DRIFTS/pyrometer-DTA—a novel simultaneous method in heterogeneous catalysis

Abstract
- This work presents a novel simultaneous method: by coupling a pyrometer—a contactless temperature sensor—to an existing DRIFTS setup such a combination was applied for the first time. During temperature-programmed reduction of silver carbonate with ethylene (as an example), pyrometrically detected processes could be assigned to spectroscopically observed changes. This novel simultaneous method offers the possibility of obtaining kinetic parameters such as activation energies of a system under reaction conditions.
