Abstract

From the (attempted) recrystallization of samples of Me 2 SnCl · Tp ∗ Me [ Tp ∗ Me = hydridotris (3,4,5- trimethyl -1 H- pyrazol-l-yl ) borate, C18H28N6B−] in dichloromethane-acetonitrile at sub-ambient temperature, two crystalline compounds were obtained, 1 {bis(3,4,5-Me3-pyrazole)dichlorodimethyltin(IV) SnC14H20N4Cl2} and 2 {3,4,5-Me3-pyrazolechlorodimethyltin, chlorodimethyltinoxide, di-μ-oxo-dimer Sn2C10OH22N2 Cl2}. This last structure displays a planar Sn2O2 ring around an inversion centre; the two tin atoms are penta-coordinate with differently distorted geometries.
