ChemInform Abstract: An Expedient Synthesis of 14,14-Dimethyl-3,7-diazatricyclo [8.3.11,10.03,8]tetradec-7-en-4-one-12α-yl Cinnamate, an Unusual Heterocyclic Compound Resembling the A/B/C Core of Taxanes

A six-step, high yielding synthesis of the title compound, which can be regarded as a model compound for the preparation of aza-analogues of taxanes, is described.
