Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to use the newly developed truly mesh-free method by Ls-dyna, the smooth particle Galerkin (SPG) method, to simulate the material failure process caused by the extraction of pedicle screws from the trabecular bone. The experimental and theoretical results are compared to verify the effectiveness of the SPG method. In addition, the trabecular bone material of Johnson-Cook elastoplastic material is used to compare the convergence difference between SPG and traditional finite element method in this test. The results show that the failure curve simulated by the SPG method is more reasonable, and it is not only faster than the FEM method in terms of mesh convergence but also solves the defect that the traditional FEM cannot capture the peak force.
