Türkiye’deki Üniversitelerin Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü 4. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Türkoloji Kavramına İlişkin Algıları Perception Of The Turkology Concept Among Fourth Grade Students Of The Departments Of Turkish Language And Literature In The Unıversities In Turkey

The Turkology, having been developed from the point of view ofEast, Islam and linguistic researches in the Europe of the 19 thcentury, has been, in the present, a science which searches whateverexists related to The Turks. Since the Turkologists, particularly in theearly periods, have been concentrated on linguistic researches andutilized the point of view and methods of it, the Turkology has only beenconceptually identified with the Turkish Language. The Turkology, asthe effect of these studies, has been perceived as the Turkish language.The purpose of this study is to reveal the perceptions of the fourthgrade students in the department of Turkish Language and Literaturein Turkish universities via metaphors they develop. The working groupof the study consists of 320 students studying in the departments ofTurkish Language and Literature of seven universities in sevengeographical regions (Marmara Region, Aegan Region, MediterraneanRegion, Central Anatolia Region, Eastern Anatolia Region, SouthEastern Anatolia Region) inside the borders of the Turkish Republic.The data of the study has been obtained by each student completing thesentence: “Turkology is like ..., because...”. In the phase of dataanalysis, a technique of contents analysis, which can associate with therelations and concepts that are capable of explaining the data, has beenused. As a result of the research it is detected that % 87 of students offourth class Turkish Language and Literature Departments have apositive perception, % 11,4 of them have negative perception and % 0,9of them have both positive and negative perception about the termTurkology. Students having positive perception develop the areas ofadding value, discipline, research; students having negative perceptionsdevelop scientific lackness, work job anxiety, negative conduct; studentshaving both negative and positive perception develop metaphors underthe name of both positive and negative code. 19. yüzyıl Avrupa’sında İslam, Doğu ve dil araştırmaları ekseninde gelişen Türkoloji, günümüzde Türk’e ait ne varsa inceleyen bir bilim hâline gelmiştir. Özellikle ilk dönemlerde Türkologların dil araştırmalarına yoğunlaşması, onun bakış açısı ve yöntemlerini kullanması nedeniyle Türkolojinin sadece kavramsal olarak Türk diliyle özdeşleşmesine neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmaların etkisiyle Türkoloji, Türk dili gibi algılanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’deki üniversitelerin Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin “Türkoloji” kavramına ilişkin algılarını, geliştirdikleri metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti sınırlarında bulunan yedi coğrafi bölge (Marmara Bölgesi, Ege Bölgesi, Akdeniz Bölgesi, İç Anadolu Bölgesi, Karadeniz Bölgesi, Doğu Anadolu bölgesi ve Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi) ve bu bölgeler içerisinde bulunan 7 üniversitenin Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü 4. sınıfında okuyan 320 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri her öğrencinin “Türkoloji… gibidir, çünkü …” cümlesini tamamlamasıyla elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde ise toplanan verileri açıklayabilecek kavramlara ve ilişkilere ulaşılabilecek olan içerik analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin % 87,7’sinin Türkoloji kavramına ilişkin olumlu, % 11,4’ünün olumsuz ve % 0,9’unun ise hem olumlu hem de olumsuz bir algıya sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Olumlu algıya sahip öğrenciler; değer katma, disiplin, inceleme alanı; olumsuz algıya sahip öğrenciler bilimsel eksiklik, iş kaygısı, olumsuz tutum; hem olumlu hem de olumsuz algıya sahip öğrenciler ise hem olumlu hem de olumsuz tutum kodu altında toplanan metaforlar geliştirmiştir.
