Abstract

The development of digital terrain models in civil engineering for the purpose of modern, efficient and economical construction has become an indispensable part of geodetic work in modern countries such as Germany. By using well – known machine navigation technologies, it is possible to transfer a large part of the execution plan into reality, i.e. into the field. The method of obtaining models from execution plans is a complex process that requires a good knowledge of how to make the upper and lower layer of the road or railway. The paper presents a method of making a 3D model by developing cross - sections, and preparing a model for field transfer and errors and complications that may occur during this process.
