Abstract

International audience; Virtual Reality in natural hazards, a 3DTeLC ERASMUS+ initiative. Natural Hazards, such as floods, earthquakes, tsunami and volcanic eruptions, often become disasters, from ignorance and lack of communication. This can be reversed by creating informed, educated populations that become resilient to the effects of these events. Virtual and Augmented Reality have a major role in this process. The 3DTeLC ERASMUS+ project aims to generate methods of topographic visualisation that can be used in research, teaching, learning and communicating of natural hazards. We present the rational behind this project, and the present advances and prospectives around technical workflow and software, so that the larger Virtual Reality community for landscape reconstruction can share expertise and create synergies.
