Abstract
- Human capital is becoming the key factor for the achievement of business objectives and business excellence. The mentioned excellence and value is partially (or fully) provided by human beings, who are not only the most significant potential, but also the most costly and, sometimes the most “ problematic” resource that the hotel has. The human being comprises experience, skill, judgment, ability, knowledge, contacts, undertaking of risks, as well as the wisdom of persons attached to the hotel. The work attempts to discover the basic theoretical approach to the management of human capital in the hotel trade. It strives to designate the elements of human, market and structural capital, and the connection between them and the other elements of the hotel enterprise. The work closes with a deliberation of the factors that influence business excellence and our relationship towards human capital.
