Abstract

This report is aimed at defining the compatibility of the anthropic uses as regards to the naturalistic and historical-artistic values on a determined area. It will be analyzed through the identification of the components of value and impact on the territory, with the purpose to hypothesize interventions for the ecological recovery and the environmental retraining of degraded areas. By the aid of the GIS procedure, this objective can be realized with the elaboration of thematic papers, which underline the characteristics of the territory under different aspects (naturalistic, historical-artistic, anthropic, legal), and with the realization of synthesis papers related to the values and to the uses of the territory, from whose comparison it will be identified the areas in which the anthropic activity is mostly conflicting with the natural vocation of the territory. The object area of the present report is represented by the coastline of the Northern Campania, located between the mouth of the rivers Volturno and Garigliano. For its particular geomorphological conditions, geographical position and climate, this area is characterized by an exceptional floristic and habitat wealth. The variety of natural environments has a high degree of biological diversity. Such vegetative wealth and difference is not only due to the natural factors, since the anthropic action has interacted, since the most distant ages, with the natural context, constantly conditioning its characteristics. The result is a mosaic of anthropic and natural elements, intimately fused in a still largely perceivable harmonic equilibrium. Often in the anthropized areas there are elements endowed with a strong naturalistic and environmental value. In such contexts there is the need to regulate and direct the strong anthropic pressure, fostering the formation and management of a net for the guardianship and the safeguard of the natural resources.
