Abstract

In this paper, the activity of a commercially available accelerating admixture called Cementol® Omega F- conc was investigated in terms of bonding and hardening of Portland cement. The influence of adding the accelerating admixture to the reduction in the amount of water required to achieve standard consistency was also tested, and the action of this additive as a superplasticizer as well was confirmed. The measured compressive strengths of Portland cement and Portland cement with the addition of a commercial accelerating admixture show that the addition of accelerating admixture enhances the strength development at early ages, while the strength development after 28 days of hydration is less than the reference sample of Portland cement prepared without the addition of accelerating admixture. The hydration flow was followed by the calorimetric measuring, and it was found that the addition of 3% Cementol delays the reaction of silicate phases.
