Abstract

International audience; The French Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety Institute (IRSN) is interested in contaminant transfers in ventilation of nuclear facilities. Only very few papers present experimental deposition measurements in industrial size ducts and especially in rectangular ducts.This paper presents experimental preliminary results carried out at different locations in rectangular ducts of an industrial size (400*600mm2). Firstly, a protocol is established to measure deposition velocities. Aerosol deposition tests are then performed to measure deposition on bottom, top, left and right walls of straight ducts at different lengths upstream and downstream of singularities. Results are compared with previous studies on smaller size/circular ducts.
