Valoriser les résultats de projets de recherche pour des praticiens agricoles innovants en facilitant l’accès à l’information : le projet européen VALERIE

European research projects in agriculture and forestry produce excellent scientific papers. Most of them could contribute to the development of new innovations in Europe but their adoption is still limited. The European project VALERIE (Valorising European Research for Innovation in AgriculturE and Forestry), wanted by the European Commission, aims at improving the transfer of EU research results in terms of concrete innovations for farmers and advisors in agriculture and forestry, facilitat-ing their integration in management practices. The main output of the VALERIE project will be a smart web research assistant (ask-Valerie.eu) which will be able to mimic the interaction between experts and users for answering concrete questions. Indeed, this tool should be able to help the user to write and develop his re-quest and then to propose a list of relevant documents, using in particular results from EU projects, selected among an expert-selected document base. Ask-Valerie browser will be available online at the end of the project. At this stage, a beta version of askValerie.eu is available and included in a testing process by VA-LERIE’s partners. The web browser is based on an ontology con-taining currently about 6200 concepts and the document data base already contains about 4300 documents. By developing the askVa-lerie.eu tool, some key issues have been raised and are discussed, notably dealing with access to information, available documents format and matching between research products and needs of stakeholders.; Dans un contexte européen où les projets de recherche financés produisent des résultats académiques promet-teurs mais où ceux-ci restent peu mobilisés par les acteurs de terrain, le projet européen VALERIE (2014-2017) a pour principal objectif d’améliorer la diffusion et l’adoption des résultats issus de ces projets par les acteurs des secteurs agricoles et forestiers (producteurs, conseillers, firmes privées). Le projet s’articule autour du développement d’un moteur de recherche (ask-Valerie.eu) qui a l’ambition de mimer une forme d’interaction entre un expert et un utilisateur afin de suggérer à celui-ci de la documentation pertinente. Cet outil se construit autour de trois composantes : une ontologie, une base documentaire et un système d’interrogation de cette base. A ce jour, la version bêta de l’outil fait l’objet de tests par les acteurs partenaires du projet. L’ontologie actuelle comprend 6200 concepts et 4300 documents ont été intégrés à la base documentaire. Les intérêts et limites de cet outil et de la dé-marche sont discutés en guise d’analyse de leur pertinence.
