Abstract

This thesis explores the concept of public-private partnership and its influence on the development of public and private sector. Firstly it defines the historical development and forms of partnerships, the advantages, disadvantages and risk sharing in the public-private partnership. Secondly, it defines legislation in Croatia, as well as in other selected countries, which must be followed by the lead actors in the public-private partnership. Further more the thesis explains the connection between the public-private partnership with tourism, branding and how it can contribute to destination management. Thesis shows how clusters can form a chain of cooperation to achieve better service delivery. Finally thesis points out Mon Perin, limited liability company in Croatia, as an example of good public-private partnership practice in tourism.
