Abstract
- Proc. IV International Symposium on Woody Ornamentals of the Temperate Zone.<br />The present work shows the presence of certain polyphenolic compounds in the petals of a cultivar of ancient rose, ‘Rosa Narcea’, recently described for the first time and selected in the north of Spain. The results show that the petals of this rose have a high content in flavonols such as the derivatives of quercitin (10,887.93 μg g-1) and kaempferol (1,475.34 μg g-1). This composition suggests that this cultivated ancient rose may be of interest for cosmetic, gastronomic and medical purposes.
