Abstract
- "A mobile game-based learning project has been exploiting the motivational power and affordances of the latest mobile technologies. Developed with sponsorship from the EC, the initiative began in October 2005. It is a practical response to a need to help young people develop decision-making skills for use in crisis situations. The aim is an innovative approach to education that is informal, fun, motivating - and effective. The first learning models, informed by social-constructivist theory, have already been tested with a large sample of international students. This paper describes how the mGBL user trials utilised website facilities to capture the views and experiences of the students. Findings are reported and discussed. These include signs that it would be worth exploring a growing 'mobile divide' and associated issues."
