Abstract
- This essay explores Elizabeth I's royal progress visits to Cambridge and Oxford Universities in the 1560s. It looks at the ways in which the visits were used by the scholars to petition the monarch on topical issues (such as the succession) and by the monarch to model her favoured religious and political policies to the next generation of statesmen.
