We have done electromagnetic simulations by using the finite-difference time-domain method via MEEP Python library. Two different 2D points of view have been carried out to parameterize the grating coupler in the near-infrared region. With the top view, the grating starting parameters, the silicon ridge width, and the grating period, have been determined and the duty cycle is studied. With the side view, the coupling angle and the grating heights have been found
