The Town of Raša – Cultural Heritage and Tourism

Grad Raša, građen 1936. i 1937. godine za potrebe rudara, zbog svoje bogate kulturne baštine u medijima i literaturi naziva se gradom spomenikom, a kulturno-povijesna cjelina Raša upisana je 2021. godine u Registar kulturnih dobara Republike Hrvatske. Diplomski rad analizira kako se raška kulturna baština prezentira u turističke svrhe, odnosno koji se kulturni resursi naselja i općine Raše koriste kao kulturno-turistički proizvod i na koji način. U radu je istražena njezina čitava turistička ponuda, koja uključuje kulturnu i outdoor ponudu te turistička događanja. Poseban je naglasak stavljen na planove za budućnost, kojima bi se Raša mogla dodatno turistički razviti i proširiti trenutnu ponudu. Rad se temelji na analizi mrežnih stranica Turističke zajednice Općine Raša i Turističke zajednice Istarske županije, etnografskoj građi prikupljenoj polustrukturiranim intervjuima i prilikom obilaska znamenitosti te na kritičkoj analizi relevantnih izvora. The town of Raša, built in 1936 and 1937 for the needs of miners, in the media and in the scientific literature is perceived as a monument city due to its rich cultural heritage. Its cultural-historical complex was included in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia in 2021. The master's thesis analyzes how is the cultural heritage of Raša presented for tourism purposes, i.e., which cultural resources of both the town and the municipality of Raša are used as a cultural-tourism product and in what way. The thesis explores the entire tourism offer, which includes cultural and outdoor offers, as well as tourism events. Special emphasis is placed on the plans for the future, which could further develop Raša as a tourist destination and expand its current offer. The paper is based on the analysis of the websites of the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Raša and the Istria Tourist Board, ethnographic material collected by semi-structured interviews and during visits to Raša, and on a critical analysis of relevant sources.
