Abstract

International audience; This paper discusses the potentialities and limits of a crowdsourced map of social, local, creative and useful economic activities in Huelva, a city of 165.000 in the Southof Spain. The tool, which is called “Mapa Crútil”, aims to facilitate the transition ofcurrent urban stiles of life towards more sustainable ones by fostering territorialintelligence. A group of urban activists, postgraduates from the University of Huelva,in collaboration with the C3IT designed the initial repertory. From a holistic point ofview of wellbeing, the map aims the visibility of individual and collective urbanendeavours, pioneering another model for development, socially more supportive, more just and more respectful of the natural environment. The initial repertory hasbeen implemented in an interactive cartographic tool called Ushahidi, it can beupdated by any registered user from a smartphone. A participative committeerepresenting the sector validates the results according to criteria previouslyestablished http://www.c3it.uhu.es/crutil/. Although the tool was born in anacademic context, currently its management has been transferred to the network ofSocial and Solidarity Economy “REAS-Huelva” which gathers most of theseinitiatives. The paper analyses main problems related to the functioning and updatingof the map.
