Abstract
- Generally, practitioner in data analysis have recognized Poisson process as a tool for the temporal distribution of earthquake. In this nature, there are many processes which similar to Poisson process such as point processes. In point processes, for a short time or small area the occurrence of event is more than one. The Poisson process is sometimes referred to simply as a random distribution of points on a line or slightly more specifically as a purely random or completely random process. The focus of this paper is on relationship between Poisson process and point process. A case study of Poisson process will be presented.
