Burnout, engagement y la percepción sobre prácticas de gestión en pandemia por COVID-19 que tienen trabajadores del centro sur de Chile

Abstract
- Resumen La pandemia por COVID-19 ha afectado las rutinas laborales y ha generado en las personas estrés o burnout, que puede disminuir por el engagement de los trabajadores. El propósito de esta investigación fue estudiar el burnout, engagement y la percepción de prácticas de gestión en apoyo que tienen los trabajadores en tiempos de pandemia por COVID-19 al enfrentar sus desafíos. El enfoque metodológico fue correlacional-explicativo, con encuestas a 408 trabajadores de una ciudad del centro sur de Chile. Los resultados muestran que existen diferencias por sexo y edad en engagement, pero no en burnout; además, las personas que perciben recibir apoyo presentan puntuaciones mayores de engagement y menores de burnout que quienes no perciben recibir apoyo orientado a prácticas de gestión en contextos inciertos. Clasificación JEL: J81; M12; M54. Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has affected work routines, generating stress or burnout in people, which can decrease due to the engagement of workers. The purpose of this research was to analize burnout, engagement, and the perception of management practices in support of workers in a COVID-19 pandemic context and its relationship with facing challenges. The methodological approach was correlational-explanatory, with surveys of 408 workers from a south-central Chilean city. The results show that there are differences by sex and age in engagement, but not in burnout. Furthermore, people who perceive they receive support have higher engagement scores and lower burnout scores than those who do not perceive support oriented to management practices support in uncertain contexts. Resumo A pandemia COVID-19 afetou as rotinas de trabalho e gerou estresse ou esgotamento nas pessoas, que pode diminuir devido ao engagement dos trabalhadores. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi estudar o burnout e o engagement dos trabalhadores em tempos de pandemia e sua relação com a percepção das práticas de gestão de apoio ao enfrentamento de desafios. A abordagem metodológica foi correlacional-explicativa, com pesquisas com 408 trabalhadores de uma cidade do centro-sul do Chile. Os resultados mostram que existem diferenças por sexo e idade no envolvimento, mas não no burnout; Além disso, as pessoas que percebem receber suporte têm escores de engagement mais altos e escores de burnout mais baixos do que aquelas que não percebem receber suporte orientado para práticas de gestão em contextos incertos.
