Abstract

The text focuses on the personality of the Czech folklorist and artist Ludvík Kuba and his field work in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of the 19th century. In particular, it looks at his perception of ethnicity and the influence of Western and Turkish culture on the Slavic population of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It provides information on the method of his fieldwork as well as the generous support of the Austro-Hungarian administration of the time.
