Abstract

International audience; To think the future of the work of art is to think a situation within art is radically called into question, a situation marked by the " end of art history ", by the possible disappearance of the " work of art ", i. e. in a situation where it becomes possible to say: " there is no work of art ". The concept of art is thought in a non-historical, in a teleological perspective. This implies: 1° to call into question the frame of the art history inherited from the aesthetics or the frame of aesthetics as a historical science; 2° to grasp the concept of art in an " anaesthetic " form, where categories of aesthetics are put into brackets in a therapeutic perspective.
