cote interne IRCAM: Houix99a; /; National audience; The present study sought to understand the acoustic cues and perceptualprocesses involved in categorizing metal bars on the basisof cross-sectional geometry in spite of their being struck in several places, creating large within-bar acoustic differences.We also investigated the influence of experimental instructionson the kinds of acoustic information selected by listeners to perform the task.
