The 'civic footprint' of theatres in their local territory. An analysis of the spatial and social embedding of two National Scenes in the Parisian suburbs

Using the notion of “civic footprint”, the objective of this presentation is to investigate an aspect that is often neglected in the literature on the “creative city” (Landry, 2000) and creative clusters and quarters (Evans, 2009; Mommaas, 2004), namely the social dimension of the spatial embedding of institutions, organizations, and cultural venues (Michel, 2019), and more specifically the place and role of theaters in the city and the relationships forged with the inhabitants.
En utilisant la notion "d'empreinte civique", l'objectif de cette présentation est d'étudier un aspect souvent négligé dans la littérature sur la "ville créative" (Landry, 2000) et les clusters et quartiers créatifs (Evans, 2009 ; Mommaas, 2004), à savoir la dimension sociale de l'encastrement spatial des institutions, organisations et lieux culturels (Michel, 2019), et plus particulièrement la place et le rôle des théâtres dans la ville et les relations tissées avec les habitants.
