Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of experiential chemical treatments on controlling dollar spot disease that appears on creeping bentgrass. The study consisted of fifteen different treatments of an experimental fungicide and compared to an industry standard and control. The treatments were applied for a seven-week period, however, observations were made on the plots for twelve weeks. The industry standard was seen to produce sufficient results over the control of dollar spot disease. The following experimental chemicals also provided sufficient results: “Cadence 70WG (3.1 g and 4.0 g - 14 days), Cadence 70WG + Insignia 20WG (4.0 g + 28.0 g - 14 days)Cadence 70WG/ Insignia 20WG (4.0 g/28.0 g alternating - 14 days) and Cadence 70WG + Heritage 50WG (4.0 g + 6.0 g - 14 days). Good results were achieved by: Cadence 70WG (5.57 g - 21 days), Cadence 70WG + Insignia 20WG (5.57 g + 28.0 g - 21 days) and Cadence 70WG + Heritage 50WG (5.57 g + 11.2 g - 21 days)". BASF Canada
