Abstract
- There are specific psychiatric disorders which are marked by the atypical ability to recognize and/or interpret emotional cues in interpersonal communication. This important deficit or bias in communication is most often analyzed via facial expression and prosodic cues, and recently linguistic cues. Among others, the abnormal processing of emotional cues in communication has been noticed in psychopathy and social anxiety. Recent research in above mentioned field and their implications are discussed.
