Abstract

The main aim of current research was to identify the correlation between the quantitative and qualitative assessment of fundamental movement skills. The research was conducted on a sample of 73 children (36 boys and 37 girls) aged eight. TGMD-2 was used for the qualitative fundamental movement skills assessment while the quantitative assessment was made with the use of the following test results: standing long jump, 20 meter run and overhand throw. The results show a statistically significant correlation between the quantitative and qualitative assessment for total sample. Authors suggest further research for investigation of applied tests and their appropriateness for either motor ability or fundamental movement skills assessment in school children.
