Abstract

Inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase are used for treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Because interaction between cholinergic system and drugs is important, it was investigated the influence of fenofibrate on cholinesterase activity in brain, plasma and liver of rats. The results have shown that fenofibrate causes increase of cholinesterase activity, which may be specially important for cholinergic function in central nervous system.
